I’m Going to be the Father of the Bride

Holly and Ryan Got Engaged

Earlier this month we had a family holiday to Turkey and while we were out there my daughter’s boyfriend, Ryan, took Holly for an evening walk along the beach and then just as the sun was setting over the water he got down one knee and said “Holly, will you marry me?”.

Drumroll Please.

Her answer, through tears of excitement and happiness was “Yes!”

So now my daughter is engaged to get married but this also means… I’m going to be the father of the bride 🙂

Lots of shrieking

Since arriving back from holiday there has been lots of excitement in the house and of course Holly is totally beaming. Oh, and just in case any of us forget, Holly will randomly shriek “Guess what? I’m getting married!”

The Perfect Choice

Many of you reading this post will already know Holly but for those who my not know Ryan so well I can you that he is the perfect choice as a son-in-law and will make a great husband.

Lots to Do

Holly and Ryan have got straight down to things and are making plans for their wedding next year. Venues haver been viewed, magazines have been bought, table decorations have been discussed and the Pinterest boards are starting to fill up.

Will I be Photographing the Wedding?

“Will your dad be photographing your wedding?” people have asked, to which Holly replies “Why would send my dad to work on my wedding day?” “Anyway, he’s going to be too busy being the father of the bride”

Exciting Times Ahead

With them planning to get married in April 2015 they have lots to organise but I just know it’s going to be a very exciting journey for them both, in fact it’s going to be an exciting journey for all of us.

So here is to the 8 months ahead, may they bring lots of fun and exciting times.
