What a brilliant summer it has been for weddings and here is another one I want to share with you. Yet again, we had glorious weather and another fabulous venue and to finish off the day; we had the most beautiful sunset – wait till you see the photos!

So it’s over to Louise & Sam to find out all about them and their Channels Estate Summer Wedding.
How did you both meet?
Sam and I have been together a little over six years. We went to the same school; Sam was two years above me and one of the ‘cool’ boys! I always fancied him but could never bring myself to speak to him. Some of my friend’s siblings were in Sam’s friendship group and vice versa.
How was the proposal?
We got together a year after I left school and just clicked immediately. After three years of being inseparable, Sam popped the question on my 21st birthday; after spoiling me with birthday gifts, he presented a box full of rose petals and pictures of our relationship each year. I just thought it was an extra little gift he had made me until I had finished revealing layer after layer of photos, petals and cute notes and came across a glistening engagement ring!
He then took me to my best friend’s house, where she had gathered all of my friends for a surprise engagement party!
How would you describe the spirit of your day?
Our wedding day was so perfect; it was laid-back but sophisticated at the same time. It felt so classy and elegant, yet everyone was so relaxed, and the atmosphere felt so vibrant; it helped that the weather was on our side. We had glorious sunshine!
Was there a theme to your wedding?
We didn’t really want a definite ‘theme’ i just knew I wanted it to be elegant and classy, a modern take on a classic vintage style – Lots of flowers and sparkle. I think it went perfectly with the venue.
How did you decide on the venue of your wedding?
We didn’t look at many venues before deciding on Channels Golf Club. It had a luxurious feel without costing the earth, and the staff seemed helpful and friendly. We just instantly got a great vibe walking around the place; it was the perfect setting for our wedding and the number of guests we were catering for.
What was the best moment(s) of your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle to the man of my dreams and dancing in the evening to my favourite song, all of my close friends appeared from every direction to join me. It was a great moment having them all around me and together in one room.
What style was your wedding dress, and who was it by?
I had a fishtail dress made by Ronald Joyce. It initially had capped sleeves, but I had them removed, so it had a sweetheart neckline with lots of sparkles down to the skirt. It was very figure-hugging with quite a prominent flare. I felt like an actual princess! I loved it so much; I didn’t want to take it off.
Were there any meanings behind any of the aspects of your wedding?
No, we just chose things that we loved and had lots of fun in the process!
Did you follow any family wedding traditions?
My (Louise) family is relatively small, as both my parents are only children. So I haven’t been to a family wedding since I was about six years old. We didn’t have any traditions to carry on; we just did what was right for us.
What was the title of the song for your first dance? Why did you choose that particular song?
We had Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. As soon as I heard this song on the radio for the first time, I could imagine dancing with Sam on our wedding day. It was just perfect, a timeless classic song.
What tips would you give to other couples when planning a Channels Estate Summer Wedding?
We loved the idea of having a Channels Estate Summer Wedding and learnt not to let anyone try and tell you what you should or shouldn’t do on your wedding day. It’s your day, your choice. Everyone will accept it on the day and be happy for you. And don’t stress over the little things; finer details don’t matter; no one notices them but you.
