Your wedding day is the day that so many people look forward to and also something that you and your spouse will treasure forever. Memories from your day will stay with you throughout your life, and wedding photos are the best way to keep those memories firmly printed in your mind.
Before computers started being able to do everything for us, past generations welcomed the wedding album with open arms. However, since the turn of the century, newlyweds have become more and more reliant on digital copies of their best day ever. There’s nothing wrong with this, of course, but is it really the same?
You’re booking a professional photographer to have the highest quality images of your day, so when it comes to displaying your wedding photos, it’s best to leave that job to the professionals, too. Let those fabulous images be showcased in a beautiful wedding album that allows the quality to shine through.
The problem with digital files is that most of the time, they end up on someone’s computer or laptop and are forgotten about. Few people really have the time to print off each photograph and compile them into a single album. And because life gets in the way so quickly, your precious photographs risk being forgotten.
A wedding album does the opposite. There is a physical legacy of your big day that you can display proudly on your bookshelf, cabinet or coffee table and it will follow you wherever you go. As a tangible and beautiful item, you’ve got a conversation piece for guests and something you can leaf through whenever you need.
Your wedding album will stand the test of time. The photos are printed directly onto high quality photographic paper, which comes in a choice of thickness and can also be laminated with either a matte or gloss finish to add a more luxurious finish, should you wish.
Computers and storage devices may be more convenient, but, unfortunately, they are not perfect. They can break down and become corrupt, resulting in you losing your wedding day memories forever.
Conversely, wedding albums will not deteriorate. The quality remains the same looking at it a year from the day or ten, 25, 50 or 60 years after from the day. This quality transforms it from just a photo album into a family heirloom you can pass down to your children and generations to come.
To enhance and preserve the quality of the albums, they have a unique binding system. The perfectly lay-flat opening allows a panoramic and detailed view of the pages, including the parts positioned over the seam.
What is our history without memories? Digital albums do allow you to scroll aimlessly through, briefly looking at each picture before tapping the arrow to go over to the next one. Wedding albums create a much more authentic experience.
Think about your own memories of looking through your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding albums and consider how it made you feel. It’s a lot different to scrolling through a Facebook album, isn’t it? With a wedding album, the memories feel more real, and you will find people spend longer looking at the details hidden in each photograph. This can increase the value of each photograph, making it unique in its own way, giving you a new memory every time you look at it.
My wedding albums are of the highest quality, and come in a range of styles and sizes to suit all budgets and requirements.
Digital files are nice, but a wedding album creates a legacy that you and your family can look back on and cherish forever. If you’re planning on bringing a touch of the traditional to your wedding day, then do consider a wedding album. I only use the most beautiful handmade albums for your photographs, which come in an abundance of choices to personalise the book to your own style. From speciality paper, custom covers and fabulous presentation boxes. All albums are individually custom-designed by me personally to give you the perfect wedding memory to keep with you forever.
I work with you to help you select your favourite images. Typically, couples select between 75-120 images to showcase in their album, which I artistically arrange to tell the story of their day.
