Lucie and James’ Fairytale Wedding Photography at The Fennes
In the summer, I had the absolute pleasure of providing Lucie and James with the photography for their Fairytale Wedding at The Fennes. I had first met Lucie and James when I had photographed James’ brother’s wedding a few years ago.
Lucie and James are such a lovely couple who first met each other while celebrating a friend’s birthday in a London nightclub. Like a true fairytale, they both agreed that it was love at first sight.

Tell Us About The Wedding Proposal
After three years, James surprised me and took me on a lovely holiday to Lanzarote. On the last day, James got down on one knee, proposed to me under the sunset on the beautiful beach, and pulled out this gorgeous ring. Naturally, I said yes!
Planning the Fairytale Wedding at The FenneWedding
It has been my childhood dream to have a beautiful wedding with a princess dress, and so we spent a few years saving up to make our wedding day special.
Was there a theme to your wedding?
Our wedding day had a modern fairytale theme with a Prince and Princess feel, along with our handsome son, Cassius, who was our page boy. Our wedding included plenty of diamontes and bling, with a traditional Church feel too.
What was the best moment of your wedding day?
The best moment of our wedding day was to say my vows, and James said his best moment was seeing me walk down the aisle. There were so many best moments! Our first dance, the cake cutting, photos, videos with friends and family.
What style was your wedding dress, and who was it by?
My wedding dress was a princess dress with a diamontes corset made in Paris by Madam Burcu. I bought it at Abigails collection in Colchester.
What flowers did you choose for your bouquet?
I chose a cascade bouquet with a mixture of hot pink Fuschia, rosehip, white lilies and roses. The bridesmaids had Biedermeier bouquets with hot pink Fuschia flowers.
What song did you choose for your first dance?
Our first dance song was called Beautiful in White by Shane Filan. We chose that song because it’s a nice and romantic slow song, perfect for us to dance to.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
For our honeymoon, we went to Rome. We had always wanted to go there as it is a romantic city with fantastic scenery. We had great fun and had lots of beautiful memories.
What tips would you give to couples planning their wedding day?
When planning a wedding, make sure you enjoy the process and try not to stress out 🙂 Save money where you can and focus on you both.
