Winter Wedding Photography at Down Hall
Each time I look at the photographs from this fabulous festive time wedding, the more I love everything about their day. With the roaring fires, the deep rich colours, the festive decorations and everyone in a party mood.
For Mark and Lisa’s wedding, it was a few days after Christmas and a short journey to the splendid Down Hall wedding venue in Hertfordshire. Down Hall was looking magnificent and everything was set for a brilliant day ahead.
Below, Lisa and Mark tell us all about their Down Hall Winter Wedding.
How did you first meet?
Mark and I met through his sister-in-law, who set up our blind date having coffee.
How did Mark Propose?
After being together for five years, Mark’s proposal was on a full blue moon on the 17th August 2016 during the sunset on your favourite beach cove in Spain 🙂

How did you decide on Down Hall for the venue of your wedding
We had looked at loads of venues but nothing felt right. However, when we visited Down Hall it felt perfect as soon as we entered
How would you describe the spirit of your day
Our big day was hectic and has provided the most wonderful memories
What style was your wedding dress and who was it by?
It was a long sleeve, modest dress byMaggie Storerio, which flowed at the bottom
What was the best moment(s) of your wedding day?
Seeing my beautiful children. My youngest daughter was our flower girl, my eldest daughter our bridesmaid and Ethan, my son gave me away. He also delivered a brilliant speech. So proud! And finally becoming Mrs Coughlin
What did the Mark and ushers wear?
Mark wore a blue suit with a pink bow tie and the ushers wore cream tuxedo jackets and pink bow tie.
What flowers did you choose for your bouquets?
A few white David Austin roses, eucalyptus and lots of different foliage
What was the title of the song for your first dance? Why did you choose that particular song?
My mum choose our first dance as she says it reminds her of me. “You and I” by John Legand. My mum was, unfortunately, unable to attend due to a long-term Illness
What tips would you give to other couples when planning their wedding day?
Do whatever you want to do even if it isn’t traditional, it really does go so fast take a step bad look around and take it all in. I wish I could do it all over
