Laura and Sam – Gosfield Hall Wedding Photography
There’s something deeply romantic about a spring wedding, which just about sums up Laura and Sam’s wedding day at Gosfield Hall in Essex. Gosfield Hall was awarded ‘Best Stately Home’ at the 2018 UK Wedding Awards. Take one look and you will see exactly why.
However, the real stars of the day were the bride and groom who were simply wonderful. It was such a pleasure to be part of Laura and Sam’s special day.
Thank you for asking me to be the photographer for your magnificent Gosfield Hall Wedding.
Please tell us a little about yourselves.
We met in Tesco Great Notley early 2011. Laura was a checkout girl and Sam was Non-Food Manager. We arranged our breaks to be at the same time and it all started from there! Sam proposed in May 2016 in the beautiful Central Park in New York.
How would you describe the spirit of your day
Our wedding day was extremely fun with our amazing family and friends. We are both very family orientated and our wedding day would not be the same with all our family and friends there.
Was there a theme to your wedding? If yes what was the theme and why?
There wasn’t an actual theme for our wedding but the colour scheme was navy and yellow.
How did you decide on the venue for your wedding day?
We actually originally booked another venue, we saw Gosfield Hall had an open evening so we decided to just go and have a look anyway… we fell in love so cancelled our original booking and booked with Gosfield Hall!
What were the best moments of your wedding day?
The best moments of our wedding day was marrying each other, seeing everyone enjoy their day & sharing our love with all our special family and friends. We really loved the evening reception as it gave us the chance to let our hair down and literally dance the night away!
Where did you go for your wedding dress?
Laura bought her wedding dress from Nell’amore in Halstead – we highly recommend this bridal shop, they are amazing!
What did the groom and ushers wear?
Sam and his groomsmen hired suits from Hardy’s in Halstead – once again we also recommend this suit hire shop!
Were there any meanings behind any of the aspects of your wedding? i.e Theme, colour, food, seating arrangements, cake, venue?
Both of us have lost a Grandad each and so we had a little candle by the side of the ceremony to ensure they were involved as they both would have loved to be at our wedding.
What flowers did you choose for your bouquets?
The flowers were from Miss Fleur from Coggeshall.. lovely lady! We had lots of yellow flowers with a hint of blue to bring in the Navy colour scheme.
What was the title of the song for your first dance? Why did you choose that particular song?
Our first dance song was ‘A thousand years’ this song means a lot to us both.
Where did you go for your honeymoon? What made you choose that place
We went to Mexico for our honeymoon! We heard great reviews of Mexico and we would 100% go back tomorrow if we had the chance!
What tips would you give to other couples when planning their wedding day?
The main tip I would give to others who are getting married would be to enjoy your day, don’t worry about everyone else as it’s your day and take some time alone just the two of you!
Kind words received from Laura and Sam
We would like to say a massive thank you for photographing our amazing wedding day! You captured everything so perfectly and we can see how much everyone is enjoying themselves! The photo album we have received is just perfect, we absolutely love it.
We would recommend Jeff to absolutely anyone who is looking for a photographer, he put us at ease from the very start and we had nothing to worry about!
