Hi. I hope you had a great summer.
I’m very sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last couple of months. It has been a hectic time, and as much as I wanted to blog about what I’ve been up to, I just could not fit in the time. I’m happy to say that I’ve been too busy has been for positive reasons.
It was a great summer of weddings with amazing couples to photograph. I got to return to some of my favourite venues and photographed Essex and Suffolk wedding venues that have eluded me in the past.
Along with weddings, the commercial photography side has also been in huge demand. I provided photography for large institutions, including the NHS, high street retailers such as Specsavers, a local solicitor and accountancy firms, and the smaller independent businesses and those who are self-employed.
My photography training company www.ExcelPhotographyTraining.co.uk continues to be such a fantastic place for people to come to and improved their photography. It’s always such a pleasure to meet so many like-minded people who love photography like I do and want to improve their photography skills. Many of those attending my training are enthusiasts, but a large number of those I teach come to me as they want to become a full or part-time professional photographer or are already in business and want to improve their business skills.
On a personal level, I went to the USA for three weeks and made an amazing road trip that took us through New England and up through Canada. While in Canada, we got to check out the stunning site of Niagara Falls, which is mind-blowing. From there, we headed back into the US and along lake Erie and finally onto Chicago before flying back to Boston, where we then spent the final week in the Cape Cod area. All in all, it was a brilliant time away.
Oh, I’ve also got into cycling, and since downloading Strava, it has encouraged me to do it more regularly. Then just before I went away on holiday, I bought myself a road bike. I must admit I found having a smaller saddle, the much thinner tyres inflated to a much higher pressure made the ride nowhere near as comfortable as my mountain bike. I am, however, getting used to it and have managed cycling distances of up to 37 miles at a time.
After returning from our holidays a few weeks ago, I’ve been catching up with the large have also been presenting as the guest speaker at various photography and camera clubs around the region. I am always blown away by the quality of some of the images they are showing me, and so I’m always flattered that they invite me to give a talk to them.
So now I’m pretty much caught up. I hope to keep you updated by getting back to some regular blogging. If you have any requests for what you would like me to blog about, please do let me know.
